Ovo Tour Of Britain: Important Information

Further details have been released as to when the cycling event will be going through the town and local villages.

The OVO Energy Tour of Britain will see 120 of the world's best cyclists touring Nottinghamshire in the fourth stage of the competition.

They will set off from Mansfield at approximately 11am, and finish on Victoria Street, Newark at around 3.20pm.

The council has requested that all motorists comply with the following to enable street sweeping and bin collections and for the conclusion of the race. Roads affected directly on September 6 include (timings approximate):
Closed with no on-street parking  (5am- 8pm): Portland Street, Victoria Street, Boundary Road (from Albert Street to Victoria Street), Southfield Terrace.
Closed with no on-street parking at times stated: Lombard Street (2-4.30pm), Hawton Road (11am-5pm), Prince’s Street (3-5pm), Albert Street (3-5pm), Farndon Road (2-4.30pm).
Roads also affected (parking permitted with restricted access and egress): Pelham Street, Edward Avenue, Parliament Street, Queen Street, King Street, Clinton Street, Crown Street, Britannia Court  and Spring Gardens.
Millgate will also be closed between 2-4.30pm although normal parking arrangements will remain in place.
The race will also involve some rolling road closures which will affect traffic movement for a short while on Sleaford Road, Newark and surrounding roads.  Furthermore, in the interests of safety there will be no on-street parking permitted on race day.
