Ladies day, and the theme was orange

It was ladies day in Chesterfield for the Clowne half marathon.

Six very courageous Striders took on the hills of Derbyshire, first home for the club was Danielle Forsey in an amazing time of 1:41:12, followed by Dawn Johnson achieving a fantastic new personal best time of 1:52:10 , next after dancing the night away at the Christmas party was Philippa Clarke finishing in a speedy 1:53:58. Natalie Harrison completed her first half marathon in a brilliant time of 2:23:32 PB with mum Nicole Henderson in 2:31:31 and running buddy Natalie Sellers 2:31:32.

A huge well done to the five Striders that completed the Tinsel 10K at the Newark showground in aid of the charity MIND.

No official times but I believe it was slightly longer than 10K , it was a first 10K for Katie Gabbitas with Steve Padgett, Sara Carter, Bernie Divall and Gemma Latham all completing.

And finally Sunday saw the first race of the Notts cross country championships at Holmepierre Pont.

A huge well done to the eleven Striders that participated. Leading Striders home from the 5.6 mile course was the amazing Tom Marshall in a time of 33:48 coming in 9th out of a field of 175 runners, followed by Adam Clarke in 37:18 (40th) Peter Davis 42:46 (95th) Mark Winter 43:04 (98th) Simon Palmer 43:13 (100th) Ben Bernard 44:35 (114th) Leroy Lindsay 46:16 (124) and David Daubney 48:48 (142)

The ladies complete a shorter run of 3 miles and all three ladies finished very close together with Hannah Thomson the first to finish in a time of 28:33 coming 72nd out of 108 competitors, with Holly Davis in 28:40 (73rd) and Elizabeth Slessor 28:55 (78th).
