Newark Athletic Club
Newark Athletic Club enjoyed a fantastic turnout with 14 youngsters taking part in the first Cross Country mini league meeting of the season at Retford. many of them for the first time. The club had athletes in 5 out of the 6 races and teams in 3 out of the 6 races. (You need 3 athletes in a race to make a team). The weather, as you know was hot and sunny (although it did rain as we were packing up to leave!)
The first race was the U11 Girls with Anna Clarke coming in 14th place, followed by Jasmine Braithwaite 20th and Harriet Monaghan 31st, Next it was the turn of U11 Boys with Joseph Monk finishing 3rd, James Tall 27th and Archie Thomas 36th.
Then we moved on to U13 Girls race with 4 girls taking part - Amelia Crispin (2nd), Niamh Monaghan (22nd), Beth Wynn-Jones (24th) and Jorja Thomas (38th). Next was the turn of U13 Boys with Isaac Stock finishing in 20th place followed quickly by Ben Mason in 24th place.
Our final race was U15 Girls because we had no entries for U15 boys. Our results were Ellie Monaghan in 8th place and Alice Gibbs in 11th place. Our next race is our home event on 15th October 2017.
