    Notfast Running Club

    NOTFAST have been out in force at Parkruns across the world recently, with Jersey, South Africa and Devon all destinations for our Parkrunners. PBs in the last 2 weeks for Lyn Gascoigne, Simon Eccleston, Mandy Eccleston, Victoria Heath, Damian Davies (including first place at Newark for the first time), Jonathan Van-Tam, Kirstie Watson, Annie Cunningham and Sue Swain.

    The final event of this years’ Nottinghamshire Summer League took place this week, with 50 NOTFAST runners in attendance. This is held at Teversal, near Mansfield, and is a 10k cross country course. For the male team, Damian Davies came 61st overall in 38:45, followed by Richard Hallam (41:49), Simon Eccleston (51:39), Andy Rowlands (48:37), Martin Dickenson(49:46), Jim Lovett (49:46), Adam Jackson (50:01), Richard Borrill (50:56), Rob Jackson (51:22), Jeremy Reichelt (52:12), Stuart Hawkes (53:40), Cliff Robinson (53:40), Steve Needham (53:54), Andy Pritchett (55:04), Peter Waller (55:29), Stuart Chase (56:25), Nick Rayns (58:41), Matt Gascoigne(59:32), Andy Floyd (59:51), Ernie Clarke (1:02:46), John Miller (1:03:56), Andy Watts (1:16:19), and Edward Casebourne (1:20:50).

    For the Ladies team, Kimberley Etherington-Bates was 77th overall in 50:44, followed by Janet Davies (51:24), Mandy Eccleston (51:39), Angela Brown(56:40), Annette Taylor (56:41), Kirsty Jackson (57:16), Cheryl Kempster(57:17), Lyn Gascoigne (59:32), Jo Gray (59:53), Kerry Robinson (1:00:31), Breeze Rowlands (1:02:10), Melanie Watson (1:02:45), Cathy Clarke(1:02:50), Kirsty Watson (1:04:03), Jacqui Walton (1:04:12), Cath Hare(1:05:35), Maria Brambles (1:05:35), Lisa Leach (1:07:31), Victoria Heath(1:07:53), Kath Ashley (1:12:12), Karen Borrill (1:13:47), Claire Simmonds(1:13:47), Sue Needham (1:13:48), Sarah Walker (1:14:23), Zoe Smith(1:26:27), Annie Cunningham (1:26:28), and Beth Webster (1:30:12).

    On Saturday, Steve Needham completed the Round the Rock ultra-marathon, 48 miles around the coastline of Jersey, which Steve completed in an excellent 11:44:54

    On Sunday, Steve White complete the York 10k in 48:04, knocking 48 seconds off his previous course PB.

    Steve White and Richard Lamb also completed the Grimsby 10k, with Steve finishing in 49:10 (another 49 seconds of his course PB), and Richard finishing in 49:18

    Adam Holland is currently competing in Italy in the Orta 10 marathons in 10 days. After the first 2 days, Adam has completed the course in 2:53:16, and 2:51:07, finishing in first place on both occasions.

    Adam Holland also completed the Scorcher Run Festival, with 7 marathons in 7 days, with a 5k after each also. On Day 1, finished in 2:47:54, and the 5k in 22:48. Day 2, finished in 2:51:57, and 5k in 27:19. Day 3, finished in 2:56:39, with 5K in 17:54. Day 4, finished in 2:54:06, and 5k in 17:20. Day 5 finished in 2:49:22, and 5k in 16:11. Day 6 finished in 2:45:20, and 5K in 17:40, and Day 7 finished in 2:48:34, and 5K in 18:04. With the last 3 days marathons in this event, Adam has now gotten within 12 minutes of the world record for 3 marathons in 3 days, and also completed his 100th sub hour marathon.

    Andy Watts completed the July running of the Clumber 10 in 1:18:13

    At the Castle Rock 10k, there were 5 NOTFAST runners taking part. Paul Zemontas finished in 56:29, followed by Andy Pritchett (57:27), Lyn Gascoigne (1:00:51), Matt Gascoigne (1:00:54), and Madeleine Combie(1:23:31).

    Stuart Ashley completed the Dovedale Dipper on Sunday, which is a 26.5 milecourse, starting and finishing in Hartington, in the Peak District. With 3556 feet of ascent, Stuart completed the course in 8 hours, 56 mins. 

    At The Newstead Abbey Dash, NOTFAST had 3 representatives on a very wet Friday evening. Chris McDonnell was first back for the team in 23:33, followed by Sarah Walker (34:33), and Zoe Smith (40:52)
