Willie Mac

My name is Willie Mac, conceived in the backseat of a Hillman Imp somewhere in the trossacks in Scotland when men were men and sheep were frightened!

I went to a school which was approved by her majesty and was awarded a cycle proficiency certificate and the 100 meters breast stroke certificate which has come in handy many times.

For my further education I registered at the college of life in Edinburgh and then Emigrated to England as a missionary 15 miles south of Newark and found my love for music.  My translator and I worked in local nightclubs and also on the mobile circuit spinning vinyl discs for a few bob.  I then unfortunately embarked on a real job to support my wonderful wife and my five boys I then had to invest in a TV as a method of contraception.

I have been involved in the entertainment business for years and my break through came in 1996 where I signed a contract with Granada TV and now own the set.

On a more serious note I have been messing around on the wireless for years and now you can find me on Radio Newark Monday to Friday 10am - 1pm doing what I love doing best, playing good melodic tunes and having a natter.

The first hour of the program I like to ease you in after a very busy breakfast show the  second hour around 11.15 it's the morning brew where we have a wee cuppa together and play three blissful tunes back to back then move onto the infamous Newark survey of the day to complete the second hour.

We kick start the golden hour at midday where we dig deep into the archives of our vast  music collection and play 60 minutes of classic tunes until 1pm.

If you find time in your busy schedule between 10am - 1pm Monday to Friday it would be greatly appreciated and it would not be the same if you were not on board.
