This exhibition brings forward a sense of creative energy. It is not limited to art created by women, nor to what we traditionally label as “feminine.” Instead, it celebrates vivid colours, unpredictable forms, freedom of creativity and the joys of life. It looks to celebrate the ability to find beauty in the mundane and day to day life. Rather than treating femininity as something innate, this exhibition approaches it as a social construct shaped by history — a set of expectations, roles, and associations that have evolved across cultures and eras. Many forms of creativity, especially those rooted in care, domesticity, intuition, and everyday beauty, were historically assigned to women by cultural norms and patriarchal structures. Yet within these constraints, artists transformed undervalued practices into powerful modes of expression. For us femininity is as well strength, perseverance, joy and freedom, found through sisterhood and connection between groups. The power to stand up for what is right and to embrace challenges and fight hardships to find stability and peace. It is the ability to share information, knowledge and experience through creation, and allowing ourselves to be seen and felt through our works. It is to feel loudly and vividly and refuse to be silenced and unheard. It is the determination to express ourselves without limitation and expectations set on us throughout history. It is the drive to create and transform pain and hardship into something entirely new.
