Another HUGE win with the Newark and Sherwood Community Lottery!

Newark and Sherwood Community Lottery celebrates a £2,000 win! Since launching over £20,450 has been won and almost £62,000 has been raised for the local community.

Gary Scullion has won himself £2,000 and is delighted to receive his prize! The community lottery gives residents of Newark and Sherwood the chance to win up to £25,000 each week for themselves, all while supporting their chosen charity with 60% of all ticket sales going directly to support local good causes here in Newark and Sherwood.

Gary signed up to the lottery and selected Newark Brazil Football Club as his chosen charity, which receives 60% of the income from the tickets he buys.

Gary said: "I heard about the lottery through Newark Brazil Football Club, and I chose to support them as my son has been playing football for this team for many years and my company was once a shirt sponsor (Stormsaver) for the team.“

As well as getting the great feeling of supporting this good cause, he’s also now taking home £2,000 for himself just by picking the lucky numbers.

Speaking about the money he's won and how he will spend it, Gary continued: “The money will be very much appreciated for me due to the financial crisis that the country is currently in."

Councillor Paul Taylor, Portfolio Holder for Public Protection and Community Relations at Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “A huge congratulations to Gary for his exciting cash prize! The Newark and Sherwood Community Lottery is such a great way to help support local causes across Newark and Sherwood and you might even be in with a chance of winning something nice for yourself too! If you haven’t signed up already, I really recommend doing so – it’s a great way to support your local community.”
