Appeal After Fatal Collison

Witnesses sought after 23 year old dies in a collision near Southwell.

Officers were called at 12.30am Sunday 30 October 2016, to reports of a serious collision in Southwell Road between High cross and Thurgarton Village.

The incident involved one vehicle with a driver and one passenger.

Tragically as a result of the collision the passenger, a 23-year-old woman, died at the scene.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.

The road is expected to stay closed for some time this morning. There are diversions in place, however we do advise avoiding the area while officers work at the scene.

Investigators would be interested to speak to anyone who might have seen anything at the time. It is important to note the incident occurred before the clocks went back.
