Flood Alerts in the Area

Flood alerts are now in force affecting the River Trent and River Devon.

River Trent

River levels are rising at the Shardlow river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including communities near to the River Trent, and cellars of low-lying properties at Cavendish Bridge. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.

River Devon

River levels have risen at the Colston Bassett river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding is possible. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads along the River Smite. Areas around the River Devon could also be affected at Easthorpe, Bottesford, Belvoir Lane and the Woolsthorpe to Belvoir road in Woolsthorpe, Church Lane and Main Street in Muston. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours with river levels expected to remain high over the weekend.
