Newark & Sherwood CVS looking for new volunteers for its Door 2 Door service

Do you live in the district of Newark and Sherwood, own your own vehicle and have some time to spare? If so, Newark and Sherwood CVS needs your help!

A valuable service for vulnerable, isolated and older people, those with long-term conditions and those in rural communities unable to access more conventional forms of transport, its Door 2 Door transport scheme helps members live more independent lives and stay connected with their communities, their friends and their relatives.

The service is available for residents across the district and right now the CVS is looking for more people to join the team of volunteer drivers, who use their own vehicles to take people to visit friends, go shopping or on day trips, attend routine medical appointments or take part in leisure activities.

Sign up as one of those volunteers and you’ll be given full training – your expenses will be covered – all you need is your own vehicle and you can give as much or as little time as you have to spare.

If this sounds like something you’d like to get involved in, just email transport@nandscvs.org and one of the CVS team will get right back to you with all the information you need to get on the road to becoming a Door 2 Door volunteer driver!
