Newark Retailers Working Together

More than 45 local business owners met to discuss combining skills to support Newark Town Centre.

The initial meeting, held on Tuesday 30th July at INIZIO on Stodman Street in Newark, was the combined efforts of Les Jones; INIZIO Salon Director, Kerri Saxby; Chair of Newark Business Club, Michael Hardy; Business Doctor and Jill Brown; Totally Locally, to gauge local interest in working together and to find out what the main concerns retailers currently have in the town centre.

Newly appointed Town Centre Business Manager, Nicola Marshall, introduced herself to the group and provided information about her role within Newark and Sherwood District Council.

Car parking charges was one of the main concern for many retailers, who felt this affects the footfall in the town centre.

INIZIO Salon Director, Les Jones, says “I’m really keen to create a meeting with the Newark Business Club to find ways in which ‘us retailers’ can offer support and help each other, whether it be sharing our clients/customers and shouting about the amazing businesses we all have.”

A date and venue for the next meeting is currently being arranged.  For more information about the Newark retailers meeting, please contact Les via email, les101@live.com .
