People of Newark support Children's Bereavement Centre through Quids 4 Kids day of fundraising

Radio Newark would like to thank local schools, businesses and individuals for taking part in their Quids 4 Kids day, and raising an outstanding £2500.83 for the Children's Bereavement Centre.

Friday, 12 July 2019 saw the people of Newark pull together in a ‘Quids 4 Kids’ fundraising day to support Radio Newark’s charity of the year, the Children’s Bereavement Centre.

Quids 4 Kids gave schools, businesses and individuals the opportunity to come up with their own fundraising ideas. The only ask was that anybody taking part would donate £1 towards the charity.

The event raised an amazing total of £2500.83, to support the work of the Centre.

Staff at Inizio had a dress down day and donated £1 for every full size retail product sold. They also baked treats for their clients to gather donations.

RPS and Greenzone Facilities Management had their own dress down days, whilst Cre8 Studios offered the chance to book a photo shoot for just £1.

Active8 Managed Technologies held a dress down day, as well as a staff bake off.

Newark Sports Direct Fitness Club held an outdoor boot camp, which members and non members could take part in for a £1 donation.

Hoval UK paired their dress down day with a £1 raffle, and Duncan and Toplis held a staff bake sale at their offices.

LetsXcape Board Game Cafe invited you to join them to play board games for only £1, and Davison's Bakery baked funky gingerbread people, which were available for £1 each.

Barnby Road Academy held a non-uniform day, whilst The Mount Church of England Primary School held an after-school ice cream sale. Magnus Church of England Academy put on their own Colour Run for 120 students.

Simply Sweet donated £1 for every sale over £10, and The Soup Dwagon donated 50p per every soup sold on the day.

Magnet Expert Ltd. had a ‘guess the baby’ photo challenge for staff, as well as a bake sale. They also held a raffle to win a day off work!

Special thanks to Claire Spindley, who invited her friends and neighbours for a coffee and cake morning in her garden.

Willie Mac was also out broadcasting live from Newark Market Place from 10am-1pm, where staff from the Children’s Bereavement Centre we’re selling coffee and a cake, which was kindly donated by Starbucks and Morrisons, for just £1.

The event was a huge success thanks the to support and participation from Newark locals. The donations received will hopefully help the Children’s Bereavement Centre to continue to provide their much appreciated services.

The centre is a place where children and their families can find refuge when effected by the terminal illness or death of a loved one. They provide a safe, non-threatening environment for children to express their feelings and get any support and guidance they might need.

The Children’s Bereavement Centre is a vital resource for many young people, and we are grateful for everybody who took part in our Quids 4 Kids event to support their work.
