Police release name of Leeds student, 20, who died after being hit by car

Police have released the name of 20-year-old Newark woman, Alice Walton, who died after being hit by a car in Leeds.

University of Leeds student Alice Walton, who was from Newark, was seriously injured by a silver private hire Volkswagen Passat on Woodhouse Street, near to the junction with Headingley Lane, on Saturday at around 4.30am. She died in hospital on Monday.

The driver stopped at the scene of the collision and was interviewed by police.

West Yorkshire police are appealing for anyone with information that may aid the investigation to call 01924 293047 or 101 quoting Operation Padward.
