The town of Newark is mourning the loss of former Mayor and current Town Councillor Laurence Goff, who has sadly passed away.
His death came suddenly and has come as a shock to many across the community, where he was widely known and respected.
Laurence gave many years of dedicated service to Newark, representing residents with commitment and integrity in his roles as Mayor, as well as at both town and district level.
In recent times, he was heavily involved in fundraising efforts for the Lancaster Bomber Memorial Statue at Norton Disney, a project close to his heart. As part of this work, he even completed a sponsored skydive to help raise funds.
Tributes have been paid to Laurence for his tireless work and devotion to the town, and heartfelt condolences have been extended to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
