Severn Trent to hold drop in session for next stage of £60m Newark project

Severn Trent is holding a public meeting for people in Newark this week to give them the chance to hear all about the next stage for the company’s ongoing £60 million waste and water improvement scheme.

The company will be working in the Nottinghamshire town until 2020, with work about to begin in the eastern area of Newark installing new sewer pipes to protect homes and businesses from flooding.

 

Nick Wallace from Severn Trent said: “We’re really enjoying working in Newark, and want to say a massive thank you to everyone for their continued patience as we work on making these essential improvements to the town.  

 

“We’d like to see as many people from Newark on the day so we can answer all their questions as well as highlight just how much better everything will be once we’ve finished.”

 

The Newark project team, made up of Severn Trent and BNM Alliance, will be at the Best Western Deincourt Hotel in Newark on Thursday 7th September between 2pm and 7pm.

 

“We’ll be sharing our plans for our work in the town, but local people might also have some hints or tips about working in Newark, as they know their town the best.”

 

The work in Newark is Severn Trent’s biggest investment in the East Midlands.

 

When complete, more than 400 homes and businesses will have extra protection from sewer flooding, with 15 miles of new and improved water and waste pipes being put in place.
