Sigma and Becky Hill for Friday Night at Newark Festival

Sigma & Becky Hill

Newark Festival is proud to announce an exciting new pop and dance night for the opening of Newark’s most popular weekend event.

This year Friday Night is Party Night! Sigma will be bringing a full DJ set as headliner for the night, along with a performance from Becky Hill!

In a move away from the tribute act line-up which has formed the core of Friday night in previous years, organisers have responded to festival-goer requests with a fresh new take on the evening, encouraging fans to bring their dancing shoes and expect an incredible night of music.

Sigma stand at that meeting point between dance music and pop, pioneers of a radio (and stadium) friendly sound that's seen them shift over five million singles, clock over 450 million YouTube views and collaborate with a host of international artists, including Rita Ora - Coming Home, Take That - Cry, Ella Henderson - Glitterball, Labrinth – Higher and the biggest of all… Changing featuring Paloma Faith. Their debut album Life released in 2015, included a phenomenal 8 hit records… the start of an incredible journey. Sigma have gone on to shower their dynamic musicality across a whopping 20 tracks, a sell-out tour and countless festival appearances, and Sigma’s DJ set at Newark Festival promises to play all their hits and more.

Singer-songwriter Becky Hill is known for her soul-stirring, powerful vocals on tracks like False Alarm with Matoma as well as her UK Number 1 platinum selling single Gecko (Overdrive) with Oliver Heldens and certified Gold top ten hit Afterglow with Wilkinson. Early 2018 she released the captivating single Sunrise In The East, which was her first for new home Polydor Records. Hill has crafted a bona-fide solo career for herself and with a new album on the horizon, and with Back & Forth with MK and Jonas Blue being one of the biggest hits of 2018, it is fair to say that Becky is making waves and is a huge artist for Newark Festival.

Liz Doogan-Hobbs MBE, CEO of LHG Live, organizers of Newark Festival said “This year we are excited to have given Friday night a shake up with a fantastic new format, which we are certain will go down a treat with festival-goers. Expect some of the biggest dance tunes making an incredible evening with something for everyone! We are thrilled to have teamed up with Ellis Mather Group as our naming rights partner and look forward to working with them over the course of the next few years. We are conscious also that fans are waiting for the Saturday line-up and this will be announced very soon…”

Early Bird Tickets for Newark Festival, which takes place at Riverside Park, Newark from 14 June until 16 June 2019 are now on sale from www.newarkfestival.co.uk
