The Palace Theatre is Bringing Christmas Back This Panto Season

What did you miss last Christmas? Spending time together as a family? Special memory-making moments? A bit of good old-fashioned sparkle and spectacle? Or just having a good laugh? After the year we’ve all had, everyone deserves a treat this winter and the Palace Theatre Newark is hoping to put the Merry back in front of Christmas with the purr-fect pantomime, Dick Whittington and His Cat.

Theatre Manager Carys Coulton-Jones said: “I know that I missed bringing my own little boy to see panto last year; it felt like part of our Christmas was missing not getting a chance to shout out ‘it’s behind you’ or booing the baddies. That’s why I’m especially looking forward to this year’s show which we want to ensure is an extra special experience for all the families who’ve missed it. We can’t wait for our auditorium to be filled with Christmas cheer once again and we look forward to welcoming everyone to enjoy, whether they’re loyal visitors or new.”

The Palace is aiming to put visitor’s minds at ease about booking this winter, keeping in place many COVID-secure procedures including increased ventilation with doors being left open, enhanced cleaning and more. Additionally, they have introduced a Book With Confidence Guarantee so that if any of members of a party are unable to attend due to COVID self-isolation or symptoms, their tickets can easily be refunded.

After 2019’s magical fairytale Sleeping Beauty, this rags-to-riches tale promises a sparkling return to Pantoland bursting with show-stopping songs, dazzling dance routines, knockabout comedy and bags of audience participation!

From the streets of London to an epic voyage over the seven seas to Morocco, join Dick Whittington, his acrobatic cat and a cast of colourful characters on this joyful journey! Will our hero defeat the evil King Rat? Will Alice Fitzwarren lose her heart to the lad from Gloucester? Will Idle Jack put his pants on the right way round? Will Sarah the Cook suffer yet another soggy bottom? Find out as you make magical family memories together at this sensational show!

Dick Whittington and His Cat runs from Tuesday 7th to Friday 31st December. Tickets can be booked in person or by calling 01636 655755 from Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 3pm, or at any time at www.palacenewark.com.
