Cross country youngsters brave the cold

Newark AC took part in the third race in the Notts Mini League Cross Country today at Mansfield. The afternoon started with the under 11 girls where 4 athletes took part. First home was Jasmine Braithwaite in 17th place, quickly followed by Anna Clarke in 18th and Zoe Smith in 19th. The next race was the under 11 boys with two boys taking part. Joseph Monk ran exceptionally well finishing in 2nd place with his team mate Joshua Clee not far behind in 9th place. Then it was the under 13 girls race, with Niamh Monaghan finishing 13th and Beth Wynn-Jones in 29th place. There was just one finisher in the under 13 boys race as one dedicated runner, Ben Mason, had to pull out after starting the race feeling unwell. Isaac Stock however finished the race for under 13's in 21st place. The final race for Newark AC was for the under 15 girls where Catherine Booth finished 10th, Ellie Monaghan 13th and Alice Gibbs 16th. Two more events to go!
