Busy day at the court

Newark Tennis Club had  two home matches on Sunday. In the morning the ladies 2nd team played their first winter match in Div 6 against East Bridgford A. All matches were closely fought often resulting in a 6-6 scoreline. Katy Dine/Jill Pinder took 19-17 Tamara Bainbridge/Lynne Hare 18-18 and Annie Davies/Jo Ellis 15-21 giving them 52 overall, East Bridgford came away with just a few more games to win with 56.

The men's 1st team played in the afternoon with their first winter match and after being promoted last season wanted to prove their rightful place in Div 8. As always first pair Sam Smith/James Lalyk barely faltered losing just 5 games (31-5). Rich Hall/Ashley Hallam and Arian Smith/Tony Gammage were just as strong losing just 19 games between them coming away with a very respectable 84-24 team win.
