Newark Golf Club bounced back in style

After two defeats in a row, Newark Golf Club bounced back in some style winning both home matches in April. The third and fourth matches of the season took place, respectively, on Wednesday 17th and 24thApril and ended with victories for the home side by 3½ to 2½ against Rushcliffe Golf Club and 3½ to 1½ against Worksop Golf Club.

Both matches were played in pleasant weather (which always helps!) with both visiting captains complimenting the course set-up and condition. The food in The Clubhouse has been ‘top-notch’ and much appreciated by visitors and home players alike.

In the match versus Rushcliffe, the Captain, partnered by Alan Maidlow secured a point while the Vice-Captain and Dave Yarnell managed a half and there were wins for Lee Hessey and Jamie Macintyre and Michael Bayliss and Tom Cutts. The match against Worksop featured only five pairs. The Captain and Dave Yarnell secured a ‘friendly half’ in the top match while there were wins for the Vice Captain and Garth Stinson, Graham Cobb and Dennis Rawle and Rock Hastings and Ben Pindar.
