Our weekly report from the Newark Striders

19 Newark Striders headed to Orston for the popular 10K Spring Dash and judging from the reports and photos, it was a very enjoyable event once again. Ben Barnard 45:54, Ted Behl 46:44, Peter Davis 47:33, Danielle Forsey 47:44, Jon Rawson 49:54, David Daubney 54:33 PB, Becky Clift 56:42 & Steve Padgett 56:42, Jason Priest 59:05, Nick Harrison 1:00:45, Esther Parry 1:05:23, Heather Green & Bernie Divall 1:06:07, Holly Davis 1:07:38, Natalie Sellars & Di Holmes 1:10:22, Anthea Moisey 1:13:34, Sally Priest 1:13:02 PB & Donna Beveridge 1:13:02.

Meanwhile at Holme Pierrepont, 14 Striders gathered for the Run with Me Nottingham 5 & 10K events. The group comprised mainly of members who have recently joined via the Step into Striders programme earning their first race medals and t shirts, great to see everyone racing in their new club colours. A few times are official, most unofficial but I’m delighted to report that all of those racing for the first time and Kath did their fastest 5K to date.  Finishing first for Striders in 28:33 was the group of Andrea Leech Smith, Sarah Stern and Kath Scott then Rebecca Barlow, Clare Stainton and Debbie Bavin together in 29:30. Next was Andrew Chamberlain 29:57 followed by Ann Clay 30:39, Lynne Boby 32:33, Ben Millen 33:34, Sarah Stuart 33:34 and Emma Ashwin 33:34. Graham Welsh ran in the two lap 10K race, finishing in 47:38.

Finally to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park where Lewis Hopkinson was in 5K action. Lew placed third overall and first Vet with a time of 18:23. Well done all!
