Turkey Trot Time

Newark Striders

We start this week with the Turkey Trot Half Marathon in Keyworth where four Newark Striders took on the hilly course in windy conditions. First to finish was David Cross in a time of 1:42:20, followed by Simon Price in 1:49:27. Familiar territory for Simon, as the Race HQ is his former secondary school. Graham Welsh was next in 1:52:50 then Ruth Mountstevens, whose strong form continues with a 1:55:35 finish.

Saturday was about Parkrun and as well as Newark, we ran at Poolsbrook, Hunstanton, Sherwood Pines and Coole, Ireland.

We rewind to Wednesday evening, and Stephen Tomlinson lined up on the Victoria Embankment for race 2 of the Nottingham 5K winter series. Tomo completed the out and back course in 24:1 Saving the biggest news until last, club congratulations to Peter Davis who was runner up  in the final of the senior sports person category at  the Newark and Sherwood sports awards.

Peter is a fantastic ambassador for the running community and we are proud to have him as part of our Striders family.
