Newark Striders Running Club
A small contingent of Striders travelled to York to participate in the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon series.
Lets start with the marathon results, a huge well done Simon Palmer, Richard Scott and Nicole Henderson who completed the challenging, hilly 26.2 mile course.
Finishing very close together were Simon Palmer completing his first marathon in a amazing time of 3:38:25, followed by Richard Scott completing his 7th offical marathon this year in a brilliant time of 3:38:53. Also completing her first marathon was Nicole Henderson who finished in fantastic time 5:15:47.
While in the 10 mile event Tom Marshall finished the course in a fantastic time of 58: 49 coming in 8th overall. The first Strider duo of Donna Beveridge and Becky Clift finished in a time of 1:48:18 while the second duo of Anthea Moisey and Tom Stimson finished 2:16:26.
Commiserations to Noel Henderson who had to withdraw from the marathon due to illness.
Sara Carter completed the Night Strider half marathon or 10K night walk in aid of St Lukes Hospice, Sheffield.
