The Ofsted Inspector had high praise for the school leadership and described the relationships between staff, pupils and families as "excellent and central to the school's success as the school continues to be rated as good.

Head Teacher Mrs Liz Duffell said she was pleased with the latest inspection report. “We are delighted that the report says we continue to be a Good school. It reflects the hard work and positive attitudes of the pupils, staff and governors, along with the multi-academy trust. The inspection letter also demonstrates the impact of the support provided by parents and carers, and we want to say thank you for all of their valued support which helps us to continue improving.”

After the one day inspection, children at St Peters were described as "well behaved, polite and respectful. Pupils learn together harmoniously in lessons and enjoy sharing ideas and discussing their work.’

The report also highlighted that the school benefits from a culture of positive relationships between staff and pupils and from effective support from its multi-academy trust  and governing body saying, ‘Central to the success of the school are the excellent relationships which exist between staff, pupils and their families. Pupils are valued as individuals and leaders have high aspirations…’ and that ‘The local governing body, together with the trust, is a cohesive and skilled team. They have a precise understanding of the school’s performance and conduct insightful visits to meet with leaders and to check on the progress of school improvement priorities.’

This news follows that of two more of Southwell & Nottingham Multi-Academy Trust schools were graded Good in their Ofsted inspections, namely Magnus Church of England Academy and Burntstump Seely C of E Academy.

Mr Chris Moodie, is CEO of Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham Multi-Academy Trust (SNMAT) and welcomed this latest news.   “The inspection of St Peter’s Cross Keys recognises the high quality education that is on offer here. The excellent leadership that Liz Duffell has shown is acknowledged, as is the contribution of every member of her dedicated team. SNMAT are very proud to be working with this academy as it goes from strength to strength.

Alex Raynor, Chair of Governors at the school agreed, saying their success was a joint effort of hard work and commitment by pupils, staff, parents and governors.
