Magnus celebrates magnificent A Level results!

Magnus Church of England Academy is celebrating its best ever A Level results as the school sees a 100% pass rate in A* to C grades.

Principal, Anna Martin, says the results show further improvement on last years’ results. “I am delighted that these results confirm the trend of improving year on year. We are encouraged by the trend and would like to thank staff and students for all of the all the hard work that they have put in.  All of our students have been able to secure a place at University without going through clearance and this is great news.”

Magnus student and Head Boy,Stefan Astle (18 years old), achieved a A in A Level Maths, B in A Level Psychology and B in A Level Sociology and has received confirmation of a place at University of Lincoln to study Electrical Engineering. 

Chloe Maxted, Magnus Head Girl, achieved a D*DD in BTEC Health and Social care and has received confirmation of a place at Nottingham Trent University to study Policing.

Today’s results are the best ever for year 13’s at the school with 75% of all grades being A*- B and 100% of grades in the A*- C range; a further improvement on last year where the school achieved 100% pass grades in the A*-E range. The schools Applied General results saw another 100% pass rate with students securing places at university to study Psychology and Policing.

Rebecca Sheard, Senior Leader Post 16 at Magnus said all of the students are now going on to higher education or employment. “We are very happy with the results and to see that all of our students have secured places for next term including University, full-time employment and travel or Gap year opportunities. For those attending University, the majority were able to secure their first choice University course and I wish all our students the very best as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.”

Mr Chris Moodie, CEO of Southwell and Nottingham Multi-Academy Trust said that results demonstrate rapid improvements taking place at the school.  “Magnus continues to go from strength to strength. These results are wonderful news for all of the students who took their A levels at Magnus this year. They now have a very bright future ahead of them. Well done to Anna Martin and her team for making Magnus such a success story.”
