Newark Council Leader returns for second Facebook Live

Police District Commander Heather Sutton will join council leader David Lloyd for his second Facebook Live discussion this Friday.

District-wide issues of crime and anti-social behaviour will be the focus of a dedicated live question and answer video, featuring David Lloyd, leader of Newark and Sherwood District Council and Inspector Heather Sutton of Nottinghamshire Police.

The session, streamed live on Facebook, is the second of four dedicated videos scheduled for the coming months, addressing issues that have been raised through the council's Residents' Survey.

Residents are invited to submit questions in relation to local concerns or issues they might be experiencing. These might include crime, nuisance behaviour, speeding, CCTV, diversionary activities or setting up neighbourhood watch meetings.

You can ask questions in advance and throughout the programme either via the council's Facebook page or email pr@nsdc.info.

Follow the discussion at www.facebook.com/NSDCouncil from 12.00-1.00pm this Friday, March 6. The video will automatically save on the page if viewers are unable to tune in live.

Friday’s video follows the first in the series, in which Councillor Lloyd addressed questions about the Newark Towns Fund.

Newark is one of 100 towns across the country that the government has earmarked to receive up to £25 million to boost its performance and maximise its potential.

Between now and the summer of 2020, a Town Investment Plan has to be developed, in partnership with the local community, businesses and local leaders, to help transform the town’s economic growth prospects with a focus on improved transport, heritage, skills and culture.
