Panto is Back in Newark with Purr-fect New Title

Panto is making a triumphant return to the Palace Theatre Newark this Christmas and just like a fabulous panto dame, they’ve had a makeover in the form of a title change. This year, instead of visiting Snow White’s forest, they will be taking families on a thrilling rags to riches adventure with Dick Whittington and His Cat.

Palace Theatre Manager Carys Coulton-Jones said: “We can guarantee that this change won’t see any difference in the quality of the show which will still have all the ingredients for panto magic from our brilliant brand-new and award-winning panto partners, Jordan Productions.

“Vaccination uptake is very encouraging for the autumn season. However it’s important that our plans are robust, taking into account the possibility of any restrictions being in place ahead of panto season which might impact rehearsals. Dick Whittington and His Cat allows much better flexibility for this than Snow White, largely due to the number of young performers required to be in the show”.

While the Palace team are busy making this winter wonderful, they’re also aiming to make it as worry-free as possible too with a new Book With Confidence Guarantee, promising that tickets will be swapped to next year or refunded in the unlikely event that restrictions change.

Chris Jordan, from the Palace Theatre’s new panto partners Jordan Productions said: “We are so pleased to finally be able to bring our magical production of Dick Whittington and his Cat to the beautiful Palace Theatre.  We are really looking forward to working with the Theatre’s team and being able to celebrate Christmas properly once again with the return of spectacular live Pantomime for the whole family”.

Dick Whittington and His Cat will transport audiences from the streets of London to a spectacular voyage across the seven seas to Morocco with a colourful cast of characters from the witty Dick Whittington and his acrobatic cat to Sarah the Cook and her wayward son Idle Jack. With stunning costumes, dazzling sets and amazing live music, it’s sure to bring panto back with a bang.
