Sunday Band Concert season starts on July 2nd in Newark Castle Grounds

It's time to grab a deckchair and your sunhat and enjoy an afternoon of music and sunshine in the glorious setting of Newark Castle Grounds

As in previous years, local bands will perform for our listening pleasure between 2nd July and 14th August inclusive. The fun starts at 2:30pm until 4:30pm with a half-time break for refreshments which will be on sale throughout the afternoon

Musically, Newark & Sherwood Concert Band will open the season on 2nd July with Carlton Brass appearing on the 9th

City of Lincoln Band take centre stage on the 16th July followed by Loughborough Concert Band on the 23rd.

We're joined by the Phoenix Saxaphone Orchestra on July 30th with Newark Town Band following on August 6th.  Melton Band will appear on 13th August with the Maltby Miners' Welfare rounding off the season on 20th August

It's a free, family event organised by Newark Town Council and everyone is welcome.

Radio Newark's presenters will be compering the events so why not come and say hello.

Top tip: Arrive early to get a good pitch, bring your own chair if you can and enjoy the afternoon and evening.
