Your chance to own a commemorative Daisy this weekend and support the Children's Bereavement Centre

The Children’s Bereavement Centre are preparing for this weekend’s Daisy Remembrance Exhibit. It’s the second year they have organised this event. Last year, they had around 400 white metal daisies displayed in the Newark Castle grounds. People who have donated for a daisy in memory of a loved one, are invited to visit the exhibit to take a moment of memory and reflection. This year’s daisies are coloured purple, as a commemorative year for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations in the same month.

The exhibit takes place between 10am-4pm Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th June. It is free entry and visitors can still donate for a daisy over the weekend. On Sunday afternoon, people who have donated (a suggested £25) can take their daisy home and display in their home, garden or give as a gift. Everyone is welcome, you don’t have to be linked with the charity or have already donated for a daisy. There will be coffee available from Beyond Coffee, children’s craft activities and a handmade daisy merchandise stall. Support and donations for the Children’s Bereavement Centre are appreciated at any time, but never more so than at the moment. The impact of pandemic has been felt far and wide, and our vital services are needed now more than ever before, just at a time when our fundraising has been substantially reduced during in the last 24 months. We are therefore more reliant on the generosity of those in our local community.
