To complete a busy Friday, Newark Rugby Clubs Senior Youth take on their Southwell counterparts at Kelham Road in what is interestingly termed a friendly match.

On to Saturday;

Last weekends result saw the door slightly open again for Flowserve in the East Midlands League Championship race, this time round "the works" host fourth from bottom Clipstone at Lowfields, Selston travel to Ingles and Sherwood are at home to Gedling, Suddenly we are all Ingles supporters!.

Elsewhere in football; Flowserve Reserves hit the top of the Notts Senior League Division Two table last weekend making three points vital at Cotgrave to keep their noses in front of what is a very tight title race. In the Premier Division Southwell City travel to Wollaton and Aslockton host Gedling Southbank.

On to rugby and with five matches left the final relegation place from Midlands 2 North is between Southwell and Matlock. With the Minstermen traveling to runaway leaders Melbourne and eyes will be on Matlock's result, and they are at Kelham Road to play Newark. Which camp are you in!!

Newark Hockey Club ladies will be looking for a better performance when they entertain Nottingham Uni, the twos travel to West Bridgeford, the threes play Beeston and the fours are at home to Worksop. That's fifty hockey players needed to cover the matches, who would be a coach!

A busy Saturday for the Jaguars Wheelchair Baskekball Club with two matches against arch rivals Sheffield Steelers at the Magnus, Jags 2 are on first at midday followed by Jags ones at 2.00pm.

Saturday will see our runners at Preswold Hall in Leicestershire for the Inter Counties Cross Country while twenty four hours later they move on to Retford for their Half Marathon.
