A busy weekend for RNS adopted runners

Rebecca Gallop Netty Stevens Adam Holland

It's Adam Holland's 30th birthday today so he's in a new age category. Here's his report on his big day;

Celebrate by taking part in the Newton Fraction Half Marathon. Champ from last year in a time of 1:15:14 so I wanted to beat that. Even better I would like to beat my PB of 1:14:45. Making some very good choices leading up to the start, like eating a light snack, 4 mile warm up with Damo and Janet, toilet and running in vest and fingerless gloves.
Got off to a great start leaving everyone else behind and the warm up definitely helped. Wanted to get a lead as I knew I was going to slow down with the 2 hills coming in the event. First hill the lead vehicle stalled 😂 going up. Over halfway into the event I had a nasty habit of looking behind to see if I could see anyone. (Nothing) did help to keep me running strong. It was great to see the stadium and see on my watch I was going for a great time. Drum roll please 😜✨ 1st in 1:12:27 which smashed my PB

Also In Grantham was Netty Stevens GD with Paul Davidson guiding and achieving a PB of 2:04.12 at Newtons Fraction Half Marathon. Dreadful weather.

Finally Rebecca Gallop took part in  tough and windy Cambridge half marathon and after a week of sickness she was well pleased with 15th and 85 minutes.
