On to Sunday, we return to Liverpool to focus in on the Half Marathon and Marathon events and once again our distance runners were faced with hot and sunny race conditions. Simon Price was the first Strider to cover the 26.2 mile course, finishing in a time of 4:19:24 and Nige Driscoll wasn’t far behind completing his first marathon in a time of 4:21:42 PB. Next came Jon Rawson 4:31:54, then Cate Driscoll, also in her first marathon 4:46:35 PB, Andy Scott 4:52:25 and Stacey Atkins 5:13:32. 15 Striders lined up for the Half Marathon, Mark Jackson finished in 1:27:17, John Palmer 1:48:39, Richard Webster 1:53:34, Noel Henderson 2:02:50, Becky Clift 2:03:54 new PB by over 3 minutes, Jacqui Jackson 2:06:08, Matt Patterson 2:14:47, Donna Wright 2:14:48, Kath Scott 2:28:15, Lynne Boby 2:28:17, Nicole Henderson 2:32:35, Leisa Pickles 2:33:05, Nick Harrison 2:49:20, Anthea Moisey and Donna Beveridge together in 2:54:22. As if this wasn’t enough, quite a few followed the main races by literally going the extra mile in a further event to complete the Rock 'n' Roll weekend. Locally, Matt Silk completed the Outlaw Half Nottingham Triathlon and there was a good turnout for the All Clubs run.
