A massive local derby

Alll the weekends local sport

🏉With Southwell relegated and Newark safe you may think that tomorrow's local derby at Park Lane becomes an end of season meaningless match, don't be fooled local pride means a lot to our rugby players and this match promises to be no exception, a big crowd and lots of banter should make a good afternoon out (3.00pm)

⚽️Newark Flowserve play their last home match of season with Gedling visiting Lowfields, "the works" need to keep winning to maintain their top nine position in the Step Six national runners up table and ensure back to back promotions. There are seventeen step six leagues in England with only the top nine runners up assured of promotion, the table being worked out on a points per match ratio. Let's hope the players are allowed to take centre stage this week and not a over zealous match official.

⚽️Newark Town entertain Askern at Station Road with manager Damo Parkinson already looking at next season with new personal coming in and the club finally playing their home matches in Newark.

⚽️The pick of the youth matches looks to be Farndon Colts at home to West Bridgeford on Saturday morning and RHP Colts entertaining Skegness Town at the Sports Village on Sunday.

🏑After last weeks excitement the Ladies hockey season draws to a close with the "ones" travelling to Belper for their last match of a mixed campaign. The men also end their season tomorrow with a trip to North Notts.

🏃‍♀️Newark Athletic Club President Gareth Bagguley will spend the weekend watching his son Tim race in the World Cross Country Championships being held in Denmark.

A bit closer to home and the Jaguars Wheelchair Basketball Club will be in Middlesbrough to play Tees Valley in a National League fixture.

🎾A lot closer to home a very busy Sunday for Newark Tennis Club, the men's doubles team travel to Burton Joyce while both the ladies doubles teams are at West Bridgeford.

⛸Speed Skater Freddie Polak is in Sheffield for the British Championships.

🐎 it’s the Belton Horse Trials all weekend with the National Trust property showing off all it’s slender, Saturday morning also see’s the Belton 🏃‍♀️, a 10k up to Belmont Tower and back.
