Striders Running Club

A lively and lovely bunch of Striders completed the Nottingham 10K. Leading the way home was Jan Bailey in an amazing new personal best time of 36:50 and claiming 21st overall. He was followed by our very speedy first lady home Danielle Forsey in 44:23 with Nick Beveridge 46:00 PB, Nick Rushby 48:18, Graham Welsh 48:38, Steven Padgett 49:38 PB, Sara Carter 50:37 PB, Athena Vargatu 50:55 PB, Beverley Hancock 51:18, Jason Priest 54:23, Niceeta Padgett 55:07 PB, Debbie Martindale 55:07 PB ,Dan Endersby 55:55, Nicole Henderson 1:02:39 PB, Natalie Sellars 1:02:39, Heather Green 1:03:37, Claire Protheroe 1:03:38, Donna Beveridge 1:03: 57 PB, Jason Cobb and Sarah-Jane Cobb 1:04:10 PB, Di Holmes 1:08:01, Donna Wright 1:08:01 and Tom Stimson 1:12:34 SB

A bank holiday weekend also means " Striders on tour" . We had two Striders participating in the Edinburgh running festival, both completing the hilly Edinburgh marathon, Lewis Hopkinson finished in a fantastic time of 3:27: 51 a brilliant result as Lewis has been injured and done minimal training. 

Steve Martin completed his first marathon in a wonderful time of 4:08:59. 

While in Liverpool six Striders completed the scenic Liverpool marathon. First to finish was Mark Jackson with an amazing new personal best time of 3:16:12 , he was followed by Simon Price completing his first marathon in his home City in a fab time of 3:53:14 with John Palmer also completing his first marathon in a great time 4:02:55, first lady to finish was Debbie Chettle in a super time of 4:48: 15, Stacey Atkins completing her 8th marathon in 5:04:17 and Debbie Roden completing her first marathon in a great time of 5:08:40. 

Meanwhile still in Liverpool there was controversy in the 5K result , with only five Striders completing the full course! First to finish was Stacey Atkins in 28:48, followed by Stewart Partridge 30:08 PB, Lynne Boby 31:14, Kath Scott 31:14 and Sue Watson 32:02.

While in the 4.76km Philippa Clarke lead Striders home in 21:44 , Andy Scott 23:05 and Stridhoe team members Mark Parker in 17:33 and Emily Partridge in 22: 47.

 

In the half marathon race Ted Behl was the first Strider to completed a great course in 

1:49:29, Philippa Clarke was once again first lady home in 1:50:46, followed by Andy Scott 

2:09:25, then in quick succession with a new personal best time Lynne Boby 2:27: 13 , Eddie Jones 2:27: 26, Leisa Pickles also achieved a great PB of 2:27:27, Kath Scott 2:27:27 , the last of the personal bests came from Stewart Partridge 2:40:47 and Sue Watson 2:43:06. I can't leave out our former Striders Mark parker 1:28:00 PB , who also won the 1 mile run and Emily Partridge completed the HM in 1:52:23.

And finally well done to Strider Anthea Moisey who completed the Vitality London 10K in 112:10.
