Newark Striders Running Club
What a wonderful weekend of running !
A huge well done to the fifteen Striders who undertook the scenic but undulating Retford Half marathon. Between them they managed to gain eight new personal best times, with three completing their first HM.
First to finish for Striders was Mark Winter in a time of 1:34:28 followed by Richard Scott 1:36:04, Peter Davis 1:38:18 ,
Steve Martin 1:48:34. The first of the PB'S came from Nick Beveridge who finished 1:45:52 PB , Dave Dews 1:48 :15, Andy Scott 1:54:42.
First lady home for Striders and making her debut in HM running was Athena Vargatu finishing in 1:50:21 PB with Jean- Louis Balestra also completing his first HM in 1:55:34 PB, next Graham Welsh 1:55:39 PB. The Strider quartet of Nicole Henderson , Natalie Sellars, Beth Toone and Heather Green finished in 2:26:35 and 2:26 : 45 all achieving PB'S and Natalie completing her first HM with Stewart Partridge in 2:45 :41 just missing out on a PB.
While Becky Clift also made her half marathon debut in Bath running and fundraising for Macmillan cancer support . Becky finished in a time of 2:09:58.
