Adam takes on 50k

Was the weekend too busy!

Gloucester 50k - yesterday I took part in this event and can say didn't all go to plan.
Started off very good and on my own and was hoping to keep a steady pace of roughly about 6 minute mile and trying keep that up for a least 20 miles. At about 18 miles I became a little lightheaded but wasn't a problem so I just took the pace a little. Then just able 21 mile I had the leader car for the marathon pass me which is fine but then it was like a race between me and him where he kept dropping back and then pulling ahead of me which was very irritating and make things worse. Had to put up with it for about 3 miles. Again feeling like I drop my pace a bit more and hearing sound bouncing up and down this horrible but I tried to keep going as far as I could. Got to 27.5miles I decided to walk for just over a mile to see if that would help get rid of it and I would rather finish than not at all. Got running and it did eventually go, just over a mile to go and Gemma caught me up so I ran with her to the finish. Well done on your podium finish. I only have myself to blame for what happened, working every day this week not having a lot of sleep and realising afterwards that I didn't have breakfast. Was my second fastest 50k as I know I've done fastest in the middle of the GBC 10in10 on day 6 ultra. I'm just happy I did it as you always learn something from each event. Place 11th - Time 3:46:25sec - Marathon/ultra 290 done, Will start looking into which will be my 300 soon
