The weekend commences on Friday evening with Bad Boy Bailey Sugden fighting on the Road to Glory card in Houston, Texas.

Slightly more local and Newark Flowserve will be looking to bounce back after last weekend's first home league defeat in 18 months when they entertain Leicestershire side Ingles. "The Works" have another point to prove, Ingles won the corresponding fixture 1-0 earlier in the season. They also have to do it without leading scorer Sam Agar, suspended after a spate of yellow cards. 3.00pm kick off

Collingham are another side that need to get over a disappointing result, winning the CMFL is out of their hands now but three points at Station Road against Dronfield could once again put the pressure back on the other title contenders.  3.00pm kick off

In other football Newark Town are again without a match, Flowserve Reserves travel to Bingham Town looking to stay on top of the pack in a very tight NSL Division Two title race and Southwell City host Gedling Southbank in the NSL Premier Division.

Farndon Colts entertain Skegby for the second week running, this time in the cup quarter final, Collingham under 18's play Cleethorpes at Station Road for a place in the County Cup Final. 10.30am kick off The Magnus

Newark Rugby Club travel to Long Eaton, six points and one place separate the clubs while it will be a major test of Southwell's recent improved form when they travel to second place Dronfield. 

A busy weekend for Newark Hockey Club begins with the return of the Ladies Ones after their extended Christmas break, a 10.30am home fixture against Ashbourne starts everything off, the Men's Ones host West Bridgeford in a noon showdown followed by the Men's Twos against Chesterfield at 2.00pm.

On to Athletics and a massive weekend of Cross Country running with the British University National at Exeter, Anglian Schools at Corby, Notts Schools at Wollaton Park and the on Sunday, the third round of the XC league at Colwick Park. Add to that the Racesby Ripper, a nine mile rough terrain event and you end up with a lot of very tired legs.

It's the start of the County Championships for our swimmers and Round Two of the Woman's league for the Jaguars Wheelchair Basketball Club.
