Amy ran at the 2nd Newham open meeting today in the 200m only.
Up until today Amy has concentrated more on the 60m and 100m over the last 18 months and has not really targeted the 200m which is what she was entered for today.
Amy was in the second heat of the 200m today in a race where there were a number of runners with faster personal bests.
After a good start and strong bend Amy was in second place going into the home straight, but then used her pace to power to the front and cross the line in first place in a time of 24.33s which was 0.87 seconds faster than her pb.
This is good enough to place Amy second on the UK under 17 rankings for 200m.
The next few weeks will see Amy preparing for the English schools meeting in early July.
