Amy Hunt

Still playing catch up with the big stories;

Amy Hunt took part in the English Athletics Under 17 Championships at Beford over the Bank Holiday running the 100m. The format for the 100m was heats, semis and final all on the same day.

Amy started her competition in heat 4 after watching some close fast racing beforehand. After a good start Amy was in front after 20 metres and never looked back cruising the last few metres to finish first and trying to conserve energy for the next race.

The semi-final saw Amy pitted against the second fastest under 17 woman in the UK this year and after another good start and powerful running Amy pulled away and won comfortably in 11.9 seconds which was the quickest time in both semi-finals and put her as favourite for the final.

The final saw 5 of the top 7 fastest under 17 woman in the UK this year go head to head. After a great start Amy was up amongst the front runners from the start and steadily pulled away from the chasing pack to win in a time of 11.72 seconds with the next 3 athletes finishing together with just 0.01 seconds separating them.
