Craig Westcarr signs on the dotted line
Craig Westcarr has signed to join Newark Football Club for the 2020/21 season. Many within the town will know of Craig from his spells at Nottingham Forest, Notts County, Lincoln City, Chesterfield and Mansfield Town.
Craig’s wealth of experience within the professional game, and more recently with higher placed clubs in The FA’s National League System, makes him a fantastic signing for Newark Football Club. Since making his professional debut in 2001, aged just 16, Craig has been pivotal for a number of football clubs including Nottingham Forest, Cambridge United, Kettering Town, Notts County, Chesterfield, Walsall, Portsmouth and Mansfield Town, and more recently with Matlock Town and Grantham Town.
With over 520 appearances the pedigree of the Nottingham-born player cannot be questioned. His enthusiasm for the game and his confidence are clearly evident in his play and with over 115 goals in his career so far, the back of the net is certainly something Craig has hit more than a few times, and long may this continue.
As a player who has played football with all 5 of our nearest professional clubs, Craig’s inclusion in the squad is something tantalising and really very special. It will be a real treat to welcome Craig more formally to the football club once training begins.
