Great performances in the lower YDL in Grantham today. Competing with our new team mates from Grantham, Bourne and Sleaford we fielded a team of 40 athletes which filled most of the events. I haven't had the final scores yet but it looks very likely that we won the match. Stand out performances included the following:
Lockie Campbell jumped 1.50m to become one of the top 4 u13 high jumpers so far this year. A big PB for him. Second in the 200m and also a valuable member of the 4x100 relay team too.
Alex Evans just pipped on the line in the 300m, and also a great run in the 4x300.
Ava Marshall wins the u13 shot as well as competing well in the 75m sprint and high jump.
Catherine Booth ran an intelligent 1500m to finish 3rd despite being one of the younger competitors.
Ben Smith dominated the u15 1500m to win by over 100 metres.
Pete McKee looked relaxed and consistent in the 1500m, achieving what looked like a PB of 5.25.
Well done to all who took part. Next event is 20th May in Sutton. After that it's Derby on 18th June.
