On a hot day on Sunday at Derby in the U17/20s YDL Newark AC athletes joined forces with Retford and Worksop for team East Notts

U17 Chloe Rowberry finished 3rd in the Hammer with 25.73 m,

U17 Luke Sayer set new pbs in Javelin 3rd 32.28m, Triple jump 1st 10.49m and 400m hurdles 2nd 66.3 sec.

U17 Alex Ellis set new pb's in 800m 3rd 2min 23sec and 1500m 2nd 4min 40.8 sec

U17 Tom Evans decided to compete up an age group and won both 400m 48.9 sec and 200m 22.9 sec.

U20 Keating Walter won the B triple jump 9.78m and was 2nd 100m 14.2 sec and in the A 200m was 5th in 29.5sec

U17 Katie Macintosh won her 300m hurdles 46.7sec and was 2nd in B 80mh 46.7sec.

U20 Ricky Richmond came 2nd in B 100m 12.7sec. 

As usual the Owens family were busy U17 twins Lauren and Tilly with big sister Amber.

Lauren won the U17 steeplechase in a pb 6min 21sec, won the pole vault 2.70 m and was 5th in long jump with 4.15m. Tilly won B steeple chase in pb 6min 29sec was 5th 200m 31.1sec and 4th B long jump 3.97m..U20 Amber won her steeple chase in 5min 16.5 sec, 400m hurdles 69.5 sec and was 2nd in triple jump 9.80m.

U17 Anna Smith went to Manchester for British Milers Club (BMC) meeting on Saturday and set a new PB in the 1500m winning in 4 min 22.5 sec which is also a Commonwealth Youth Games qualifying mark and she is ranked 2nd in UK at u17 girls.

At the other end of the spectrum Tim Bagguley competed in the North York Moors 100 miles (actually102 miles) with a combined elevation of over 11,000 feet starting in Malton with the course covering the moors out nearly to Whitby and then returning via Goathland (Adensfield for Heartbeat fans) back to Malton. He contended with hot conditions in the high 20s and a couple of thunderstorms but completed the course in 34 hours and 30min to finish 80th out of 493 starters. This follows on from his previous weekend when he competed in the Southport Sprint Triathlon 750m swim,20k bike and 5k run when he finished 13th overall and 2nd in his age group and gained selection to represent GB in the 30-34 year age group in August 2018 (twenty eighteen) in the European Championships in Glasgow.

 

At the BMC meeting in Manchester Linton Taylor set a new PB of 14min 28.33sec finishing 5th in 5000m.
