Newark AC got their senior league programme underway with a trip to Cleethorpes supported by a number of male athletes from Rushcliffe AC the team finished in 3rd place out of 8. There were wins for the men by

Graham Moffat (R) 3000m steeple chase “A” 11.15.2

Tim Bagguley (N) 3000m steeple chase “B” 11.19.5

Dan Homer (R) 800m “B” 2.14.7

Thomas Hubbard (N) 1500m “B” 4.44.3

James Scott (R) mens triple jump (A) 11.47 , 400m hdls (B) 67.8

Joss Moffat (R) high jump (A) 1.83

4x 100 relay 47.8

In the 4 x 400m they crossed the line first but were disqualified for the same infringement as GB in Rio.

There were a number of 2nd places in the A string. 1500m Dan Homer (R) 4.18.8, 400m hdls Joss Moffat 58.2, hammer Craig Rodwell 34.28, discus Craig Rodwell 32.01, javelin Joss Moffat 41.57, shot Craig Rodwell 9.98, pole vault Tim Bagguley 2.10 and in the B events 200m Marc Scott(R) 25.1, 400m Luke Sayer 56.9, 5000m Martin Waite 18.10.3, hammer Gareth Owens 15.01, triple jump Tim Bagguley 9.77, shot James Scott 7.94

 

Despite only having 4 ladies 3 from family Owens they equipped themselves well and Amber Owens showed her versatility by winning the 3000m 10.52.3, 400m hdls 71.9, triple jump 9.58 and her sister Lauren won the pole vault 2.60. and 2nd in B triple jump 8.96. Amber and Lauren then teamed up with sister Tilley and Lauren Rowberry to win the 4x 100

The youngsters were also in competition on Sunday at Nottingham and we will bring you those results as soon as they are in.

Wednesday night is the next round of the Notts summer league at Holme Pierrepont and the weekend will see a number of athletes competing in the combined Notts/derbys AAA championships at Derby.
