Busy weekend for Newark A. C.

A bit of rain cannot stop our runners

Well done to all of our younger athletes who braved the wet and muddy conditions at Bulwell for the 3rd event of the Mini League Cross Country.

As always, everyone was fantastic and as always the first race of the day was for U11 girls. Maisie Mullett made her debut as a competing athlete and finished in an amazing 5th place. Maisie was followed by Jessica Jackson in 38th place. Then our U11 boys raced with a fantastic debut from Reuben Shivas in 25th place. Brother Cameron was next back in 33rd place. Edward Macintyre ran as a guest and can't wait to make his competing debut in the new year.

For the U13 girls, Anna Clarke finished strongly in 11th place, followed by Harriet Monaghan in 20th. In the U13 boys race, Joseph Monk finished in a great 3rd place, followed by Joshua Clee in 10th and Ryley Picker in 12th. Finally, in U15 girls, Niamh Monaghan finished in 14th place closely followed by Beth Wynn Jones in 16th place. Amazing results for a new course and tough conditions!

Meanwhile at the Lincs Cross-Country League Simon Roberts, Carl Braithwaite and Lee Braithwaite finished 9th, 41st, and 53rd respectively.

Finally we’ll done to Ella Hancock who attended the 2nd in the Canicross Midland Series at Daventry on Saturday and Sunday with her dog Magic. She came 3rd Female over the weekend in the 3k on a very muddy and hilly course.
