Quite busy weekend for local riders racing in very contrasting weather conditions on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday in Round 4 of the Notts & Derbys Cyclocross League held at the Toot Hill School, Bingham Jet Du Toit (Newark Castle Cycling Club) was the Winner in the Under 9`s Category Race with Louis Inman, racing for the Bolsover & District Cycling Club in 2nd place with Southwell`s Stanley Russell, racing as a Private Entry in 17th place. 56 Riders finished.

In the Under 12`s Category Race, Jude Du Toit (Newark Castle CC) finished 3rd with Team-mate Charles Hoyle in 8th place.  Charlotte Lissaman (Newark Castle CC) finished 20th overall and first Female rider.

Noah Inman, racing for Lichfield City Cycling Club, finished 32nd in the Youth Category (Under 14/Under 16) Race with Ben Marshall (Newark Castle CC) in 46th place.  63 riders finished race.

In the Veteran`s Category Race, Ian Russell (Moda Road Team) finished in 16th place with Owen Wilby (Sherwood Pines/Forme) in 64th place.  124 riders finished the race.

Race conditions were very hot and very windy.

In Round 3 of the Lincolnshire Cyclocross League held in very cold and wet conditions at the Common Plantation Site, Broughton, Near Scunthorpe on Sunday, Isabel Darvill (Velo Schils-Interbike RT) finished 3rd in the Senior Women`s Race won by her former Team-mate, Madeline Gammons (Admiral-LIV-AWOL) after crashing into bramble bush and nettles. Also 5th overall in the combined Junior/Womens Race.  photos attached

Ian Russell (Moda RT) finished 13th in the Veteran`s Category Race out of 82 finishers.

Long Bennington`s Joshua Lane, racing for the Witham Warriors, finished 7th in the Under 12`s Category Race while younger Brother, Noah Lane, also racing for Witham Warriors, finished 9th in the Under 9`s Category Race.

On Sunday in Round 5 of the Ridley-Lazer West Midlands Cyclocross League held at Baggeridge Country Park, Dudley Noah Inman, racing for Lichfield City Cycling Club, finished 30th in the Youth (Under 14/Under 16) Category Race

Jude Du Toit (Newark Castle CC) finished 8th in the Under 12`s Race

Younger Brother, Jet Du Toit (Newark Castle CC) finished 3rd in the Under 10 Category Race with Louis Inman (Lichfield City Cycling Club) in 4th place.
