All the news from Notfast Running Club with Dave Fargher

There were 28 club members over 3 Parkruns this week, Newark, Belton and Rushmere, with PB's for Richardand Debbie Harding, Rebecca Lax and Fay Patterson

Last week was the Gordon Whelbourn week, organised by Newark AC and well supported by NOTFAST with a fantastic club turnout. The week involves a 5k run every evening from Monday to Thursday in various locations, and a 10k on the Friday at Flowserve. In total, NOTFAST had 80 individual runners competing through the week out of a field of 200 (40% in fact -  for the stat cats!), with 33 NOTFAST runners completing the whole week.  In total, combined distance for NOTFAST members was 1600km over the week, the equivalent of Newark to Rome as the crow flies.

Diana Wakefield did spectacularly, being the 1st women for the week and also scooped the Mary Whelbourntrophy. Jeremy Reichelt and Rachel Revill also came 2nd in their respective age categories. The week also saw some great PB's for Jim Lovett, Breeze Rowlands, Colette Fargher, Suzanne Catley, Fay Parker, Maria Brambles, Fay Paterson, Kimberly Etherington-Bates, Peter Brown, Cath Hare, Dolly Dales, Annette Taylor, Nikki Dales

Sue and Steve Needham competed in the Nottingham sprint triathlon on Friday. 750m Swim, 18km cycle and 4.5k run, completing in 1:47:51 and 1:38:07 respectively. Not content with that, over Saturday and Sunday they went on to complete an ultra-marathon along with Rachel Needham, The 53 Mile Heineken race to the tower. Very sunny and very hilly over 2 days, Apparently the elevation change is equivalent going up and down mount Snowdon twice. First day 9:20:28 Second day 10:51:59

On Sunday Matt and Lyn Gascoigne were at the ITU Leeds world triathlon series (1500m Swim for Lyn/750m for Matt due to fog, 36.2km Bike and 10k run) , Matt completing in 02:31:15 and Lyn in 03:09:19

Saturday saw the inaugural Van'Elnor 10k Trail race in Barkston, Dave Fargher (51:22), Chris Redhead (57:41), Peter Lane (1:01:49) and Amy Borrill (1:08:40), certainly one to keep an eye out for next year.

Stuart Ashley completed the 27.5 mile Farthingston Foot Fest with an abundance of gates and stiles and an impressive 1750 feet of ascent, time of 08:31:00.

There were also some Half Marathons ran, Steven White was at hull and completed in 01:59:50, Andy Floydand Kira Green were at the Melton Mowbray Road2Recovery (02:41:42 and 03:01:00 respectively) 

Other 10k events included Chris Mumby at the Hull 10k with a time of 01:08:00 and Peter Lane at the Clumber park 10k  getting 00:56:52. 

One last key mention was Helen McLaughlin, walking the 26.2 mile Edinburgh Moon walk, through the night, in her bra, carrying a unicorn. Fundraising for her niece. Completing in 08:30:00
