Golden day for two young stars

Amelia & Joseph captured at last weeks XC

Newark Athletic Clubs youngsters braved the cold for the fourth Notts Mini League Cross Country event held at Worksop College yesterday.

In the first race for U11 girls, Maisie Mullett finished in a great 6th place, followed by Megan Lane making her debut appearance for the club in 38th place. Jessica Jackson was not far behind in 45th place.

In the U11 boys race, Lewis Biggin finished in 18th place followed by Reuben Shivas 24th and Cameron Shivas 32nd. Edward Macintyre ran as a guest for the final time and is looking forward to competing as an U11 in the new year.

Then our U13 girls raced with Anna Clarke finishing strongly in 6th place and Jasmine Braithwaite 13th.

Joseph Monk finished in 1st place for the U13 boys after taking the lead at the half way point and holding it to the end. He was followed by Ryley Picker in 10th place and Josh Clee 13th.

Amelia Chrispin also had a brilliant race, finishing in 1st place, after leading for most of the race. She was followed by Beth Wynn Jones in 13th place.

A special mention goes to Jamie Macintyre who took part in the parents race finishing in a great 8th place! Well done everyone.
