Jags in North Wales

A long trip for Jaguars Wheelchair Basketball Club

Today Jags 1 travelled to North Wales to take on Knights. Luke Holland joined the team as John Harper is injured, making this Lukes first appearance in Division 1.

The first quarter was a baptism of fire as Knights pressed hard from the start and had scored 6 points before Simon West got Jags on the board. After a hard fought first quarter Jags were down around 15 points.

The second quarter saw Jags settle in better and thanks to amazing efforts from Lynn Chantry who scored 6 points, Luke who got his first basket, Ian scored a couple and Angus who was amazing as always, we won that quarter of the game.

The third quarter was hard fought once more, Luke got his second basket, Marc Blackman sprang to life and found his rhythm and Ian and Simon got another basket each bringing us to within 11 points and us winning that quarter.

The last quarter was not to be our lucky one unfortunately, and despite a valiant effort by all at the end of play the score was 60 - 43 to Knights.

All in all a great game that had all players scoring at least 2 baskets each, despite the court having faded lines and so many holes and divots in it that it felt as if you were going over a rumble strip! The after match food left a little to be desired and no tea or coffee.

Go Jags!!
