Louise at the London Marathon

Following on from our chat with Louise Mackinder on Wednesday's sports show, here is all you need to know

This time last year, my dad was a healthy man. At the turn of 2016, no one had any clue that he would suddenly become very poorly and diagnosed with a heart illness called endocarditis. He battled for a short time and although the surgeons, doctors and nurses did everything they could, he couldn't be saved.

At Glenfield hospital, on the specialist heart unit, he received brilliant treatmeant and care, which couldn't have taken place without funding and research from the British Heart Foundation. Professor Murphy did everything in his power to save my dad. Unfortunately he couldn't this time, but I hope that he continues to conduct research with the British Heart Foundation to be able to save lives of future patients.

This is why I am raising £2500 for the charity. The past year has proven that so much can change in a short space of time without any anticipation, previous illness or warning.

Please give if you can.
