Sam & Sara lead the way
Last week Mixed 1st suffered an unfortunate defeat despite starting the match with a 3-0 advantage due to the oppositions late arrival however Keyworth showed why they were top of Div 5 and came away 11-7 (Sara/Sam 3-3, Steph/Adrian 3-3, Jo/Sam 1-5) making it the second loss for the team this season.
This weekend started with the mixed 2nd team also suffering a defeat to Woolaton in the short format and not able to take any sets (0-12) from with the 3 pairings of Gary Brickles/Tamara Bainbridge, Edgars Barvinskis/Lynne Hare and Todor Malonov/Jill Pinder although Todor/Jill came closest but lost a final round tie-break.
Gary/Tamara were in action again on Sunday as Mixed 1st headed to Mansfield looking for a win. Sam Smith/Sara Jackson took 5 sets -1, Adrian Smith/Steph Smith 3-3 and Brickles/Bainbridge 2-4 taking a much needed tie-break in the final round to secure the match 10-8.
